Portrait Sessions

Fee:
$250 for two hours of shooting time

You get:

  • A CD with all the photographs included. There are typically 30-50 photographs per session.
  • A release form stating that you have the right to print and reproduce the pictures.

Turn-around:

  • Pictures are typically available 7-10 days after the shoot is completed.

About the Shoot:

  • I can take pictures in the comfort of your home or at an outdoor location of your choice.
  • I will make hospital visits or come to your home for newborn pictures.
  • I can set up a studio in my home for portrait shots using studio lights and backdrops.
  • I work well with kids and pets.

Photo Details:

  • All pictures are provided on a disc in high-resolution .jpg format
  • I include 'readme' files explaining how to use, download and print pictures
  • I am available for assistance if you need help printing pictures

Areas Served:

  • I live in Chandler, AZ. I serve the Phoenix metro area and nearby cities.
  • If I need to travel over 25 miles to reach your location, I will charge an addition $25 travel fee.

Additional Purchases:

Note: You do not need to get prints from me - you can print the photos yourself on your own computer or at any photo store or on-line service. You can duplicate the discs for yourself. That is why I give you the disc and the photo release form. However, I offer these additional services in case you prefer that I print pictures for you.

Session Details

Your photo session will be a fun and comfortable event where I take pictures that reflect your family's unique personality. My goal is to capture the special relationships, smiles, and moments that you love. I'm  friendly and laid-back, and I try to make the photo session enjoyable for everyone.

I work with natural light and the backgrounds that are available in your home, yard or favorite park. During the session we  will  move around to take fun,  spontaneous shots. Some of my clients' favorite pictures are candid photographs of their children playing and smiling.  I can also do portraits with studio lights and backdrops in my home. 

The photo session is two hours. This allows plenty of time for clothing changes, snacks and breaks.

I love animals (as long as they are not dangerous!) I will gladly photograph you with your dog, cat, hamster, bird, snake, horse, lemur, etc.

Location
I'm willing to take photographs in my home, in your home, or outdoors at a park or other location. 

At my home I have set up a studio in my front room. When you come in, you'll see the backdrop, lights and tripod for my camera. There is enough room to accommodate babies, children and families.

What to Wear
Many people prepare several clothing changes.

For adults, solid colors look good in photographs, as do long sleeves and long pants. Try to avoid fabrics that have ornate designs. Wear something that makes you feel good.

Children look good in almost anything, so feel free to dress them in their cutest outfits. However, it is best to avoid large logos or cartoon-print clothing. Things that are too "busy" look distracting in a photographs and pull attention away from the child's cute face.

Families often dress in similar clothing. Popular choices include:

  • Denim jeans with solid-color shirts in the same shade
  • Black and white for everyone
  • Black pants or skirts and colored tops
  • Khaki pants and white shirts

Best Time for Photographs
It's best to take family pictures when your child is happy and well-rested. I encourage people to schedule photo shoots for children around a nap-time if necessary, and to pick a time of day when the child is usually in a good mood.

For outdoor photos, it's best to schedule in the morning or evening, to take advantage of the cooler weather and the lovely soft natural light that is present at those times. I can  recommend some great Phoenix area locations for outdoor photographs near greenbelts and small waterfalls.

Need to Reschedule?
It's better to reschedule than to take pictures when you or a child is sick or upset. I'm very understanding and I will help you reschedule for another time.  If possible, please give me 48 hours advance notification if you need to cancel.
